Dover Training
At 09:00 every Satursday and Sunday, around 50 swimmers gather on Dover seafront to swim under the watchful eye of Freda Streeter.
Freda Streeter is known as "The Channel General" and has helped countless swimmers achieve their dreams. She runs the training in Dover Harbour for all those that sign up to her training methods, and is loved and cared about by many swimmers around the world. She is always willing to offer her advice and help.
Dad and Me Me and the General
On arrival you are given a numbered swimming hat for safety reasons and told how long you will be swimming for. Its always a tense moment as until that point, you don't know wether you will be swimming for 4, 6, or 7 hour swim that day.
Everything is all carefully planned by Freeda and their team, and the help and support they offer is second to none.
Freeda's daughter "Alison" is the queen of the channel with over 40 crossings under her belt.
Dover harbour is a mind numbing venue to swim, with lap upon lap from pier to harbour wall, but even when things seem really hard, you dearnt get out a risk one of the generals famous Bo#@#@ings!!!!
Will he make it, Alex isnt sure! Out at last
I will normally make the early morning trip to Dover on my own, but in the past have had the pleasure of Dad, Ann-marie, Chloe, Gav and Alex accompanying me.
